DAQ strives to keep current with emerging technologies and remain active within the industries we support. This involvement ranges from technology promotion to the development of standards, and includes membership in such prominent industry organizations as:

USGBC

DAQ is a registered member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The USGBC is a private 501(c)3, membership-based, non-profit organization that promotes sustainability in how buildings are designed, built, and operated. USGBC is best known for its development of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating systems and its annual Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building.

USGBC is made up of tens of thousands of member organizations, chapters and student and community volunteers that are moving the building industry forward. It is a diverse group of builders and environmentalists, corporations and nonprofits, teachers and students, lawmakers and citizens. Today there are 77 chapters, 13,000 member organizations and 188,000 LEED professionals that share the same vision of a sustainable built environment for all within the next generation.

SIA

The SIA is one of the primary resources for the global security industry. The SIA advances member interests by advocating pro-industry policies and legislation on Capitol Hill and throughout the 50 states, producing leading-edge global market research, creating open industry standards that enable integration, advancing industry professionalism through education and training, and opening global market opportunities.

The SIA creates standards that are open and enable easy integration of diverse components. Participants shape the future of the industry, acquire industry intelligence, and enable rapid acceptance of products in new markets. The SIA is an ANSI-accredited standards developer.

DNP Users Group

DNP (Distributed Network Protocol) is a standards-based communications protocol developed to achieve interoperability among systems in the electric utility, oil and gas, water/waste water, and security industries. This robust, flexible, non-proprietary protocol is based on existing open standards and operates within a variety of networks.

IEEE has recommended DNP for (Remote Terminal Unit) to IED (Intelligent Electronic Device) messaging. DNP can also be implemented in any SCADA system for efficient and reliable communications between substation computers, RTUs, IEDs and master stations. DAQ participates in both the DNP Technical Committee and DNP Users Group. The technical committee defines DNP standards and the users group provides a common forum for DNP implementers and users.

IEEE

DAQ participates in the IEEE Substations Committee, a technical group under the direction of the Technical Council of the IEEE Power Engineering Society. The Substations Committee is the professional home for all engineers involved in the design and operation of generation, transmission, and distribution substations.

Participating in the activities of the Substations Committee presents a unique opportunity to expand knowledge and expertise through the exchange of views, information, and practices with fellow engineers both nationwide and internationally.

NDIA

The NDIA is a defense industry association that promotes national security by facilitating a strong relationship between industry and government. Members include individuals from the armed forces, the government, small businesses, contractors and research institutions.

The NDIA functions to assist in the exchange of information on national security issues, advance the joint development of leading-edge technologies for superior weapons and equipment, and influence government policies related to the defense industry.

ASIS

With more than 33,000 members worldwide, ASIS is the largest educational organization for security professionals. Through the development of security-related programs and educational materials, ASIS promotes an understanding of common security concerns and helps to improve overall industry performance.

ASIS conferences and workgroups focus on security fundamentals as well as recent advancements in security management.
