Intrusion Detection Devices

StarGate-5 IDS Alarm Panel

Designed to function both as a standalone intrusion detection system for central station monitoring and as a cohesive part of the StarWatch™ security platform, the StarGate-5 provides secured, open connectivity for diverse applications. With native BACnet as an option, the StarGate-5 can communicate with any ANSI/ASHRAE 135-2010 compliant system, enabling seamless integration of intrusion detection, security, and building management systems.

The StarGate-5 controller provides 8 on-board I/O points, expandable in sets of 8 points via RIOX-5 expansion modules (up to 128 I/O points total). The panel can be installed directly or housed within a metal enclosure with an optional 24VDC power supply. The unit can also provide local battery back-up charged by the local power supply or PoE+ supply.

  • PoE+ native BACnet intrusion detection panel
  • Status indication LEDs and icons reduce installation and configuration time
  • PoE+ design powers unit and LCD touch panel
  • 4 state alarm monitoring
  • Advanced SAML user authentication
  • 8 on-board inputs and 8 outputs, expandable to 128 inputs and 128 outputs via RIOX-5 modules
  • PoE+ build option

In addition to traditional PIN-based arming/disarming, the StarGate-5 supports a SAML-based user authentication process, allowing customers to centrally and uniquely manage who can arm/disarm their facilities. Via an integrated LCD touchscreen, users are prompted to enter a unique user name/password combination, which is validated against a centralized SAML server. This process provides the highest level of IDS authentication and security.

Access-Secure Keypad

When communicating with an associated RADC network controller, the DAQ Access-Secure Keypad is capable of monitoring and securing up to eight geographic alarm zones. Access to independent zones is easily controlled via an illuminated push-button keypad, which enables the entry of PIN numbers or the invoking of system control functions, such as local diagnostics and zone settings.

Using the keypad and backlit LCD display, authorized users can perform a variety of system control tasks, including accessing/securing zones, extending access periods, initiating duress conditions, and running maintenance tests on alarms and sensors. Enhancing system awareness and diagnostics, the current status of individual sensors can be viewed on-screen along with historical listings of logged events.

  • Simple, menu-driven interface
  • Backlit 4 x 16 character liquid crystal display
  • Three LEDs indicate modes of operation: access, secure, and enter PINs
  • Single keypad unit can secure up to eight geographic alarm zones
  • Interactive display allows viewing of alarm states, event logs, and system diagnostic features
  • Suitable for outdoor use when installed with environmental sealing kit

Communication between Access-Secure Keypads and connected RADC modules is facilitated via an isolated RS485 interface, with two keypads supported by a single RADC.

Touch Keypad

When communicating with an associated RADC network controller, the DAQ Touch Keypad is capable of monitoring and securing the RADC’s alarm zones. Control is facilitated via an LCD touch screen display, which enables the entry of PIN numbers or the invoking of system control functions, such as local diagnostics and zone settings.

Using the keypad and backlit LCD display, authorized users can perform a variety of system control tasks, including accessing/securing zones, initiating duress conditions, and running maintenance tests on alarms and sensors. Enhancing system awareness and diagnostics, the current status of individual sensors can be viewed on-screen.

  • Simple, menu-driven interface
  • 800 x 480 RGB 7” LCD display
  • Graphical symbols clearly indicate modes of operation: access, secure, and enter PIN
  • Single keypad unit can secure up to 128 points in an alarm zone
  • Interactive display allows viewing of alarm states
  • Suitable for outdoor use when installed with environmental sealing kit

Communication between Touch Keypads and connected RADC modules is facilitated via an isolated RS485 interface, with four keypads supported by a single RADC.

RIOX-5 Input/Output Expansion Module

RIOX-5 input/output expansion modules are used to increase the point count of StarGate™-5 controllers, enabling the integration of additional StarWatch™ components and sensors. Through direct, on-board connections, up to seven RIOX-5 units can be added to a single StarGate-5, with each module providing eight additional status inputs and eight relay outputs. When added to the eight inputs and eight outputs provided on a host StarGate-5 unit, the use of RIOX-5 boards brings the total possible point count associated with one StarGate-5 to 64 inputs and 64 outputs.

All inputs are tamper protected and can detect normal, alarm, tamper open, and tamper short conditions on the monitored line. LEDs are utilized to indicate the signal condition and can be used for diagnostic purposes. Software configuration allows for normally open or normally closed contacts to represent the normal condition. Outputs are provided with relays from Form C contacts, with link selection allowing outputs to be configured as normally open or normally closed.

  • Eight tamper-protected inputs
  • Eight Form C relay outputs, configurable as normally open or normally closed
  • Capable of expanding the I/O capacity of StarGate-5 units to a maximum of 64 inputs and 64 outputs
  • All connections to StarGate-5 units via plug-in terminal blocks
  • Diagnostic LED indication of all alarm points

Enhancing ease of maintenance and upgrade, all connections are provided with a plug-in terminal block, eliminating the need to disconnect wiring.
