eRADC

The multi-function eRADC (ethernet-enabled Remote Area Data Collector) adds 10/100 Mbps wired Ethernet capability to the standard RADC, improving the speed and reliability of communications with StarWatch™ front-end software. Eliminating the need for serial or copper wiring and the traditional Poller Mux layer of equipment, the unit allows users to utilize existing network infrastructure for all communications.

  • Supports IEEE 802.3 / 802.3u-100Base-TX / 10Base-T Physical Layer
  • 10/100 Mbps, Full / Half duplex auto negotiation
  • Supports UDP & TCP/IP

The eRADC acts as a network controller for the StarWatch suite of security products, offering a versatile communications interface for door controllers, alarm panels, and access/secure keypads. As an intelligent field device, the unit interfaces with exterior components and intrusion detection sensors over an ArcNET LAN (Local Area Network) and through onboard I/O connections, including eight tamper-protected status inputs and eight relay outputs. Total point count can be expanded to 32 inputs and 32 outputs via seamlessly connected RIOX expansion modules. The eRADC efficiently collects and processes data received from multiple connected devices and reports relevant information to the system PMC data center.

  • Eight on-board inputs and eight outputs, expandable to up to 32 inputs and 32 outputs via RIOX modules
  • Incorporates full anti-passback functions
  • Four RS232 / RS485 comm ports provide interface to intelligent sensors and additional StarWatch units
  • Monitors power supply, low battery, and cabinet housekeeping points
  • LED indications for operational status

The eRADC can be fully integrated with the StarWatch front-end operating system or used as a stand-alone area controller, making intelligent control and monitoring decisions based on the local flow of data and user-definable configuration settings. A single unit is capable of communicating with up to 32 devices, including other eRADC units. An ethernet port is provided along with four serial communications ports, each selectable as either RS232 or RS485. Utilizing DAQ’s PILOT software tool, the eRADC also supports programmable logic, enabling the use of sophisticated, user-defined applications.

RIOX

RIOX (RADC Input/Output Expansion) modules are used to increase the point count of RADC network controllers, enabling the integration of additional exterior StarWatch™ components and sensors. Through direct, on-board connections, up to six RIOX units can be added to a single RADC, with each module providing four additional status inputs and four relay outputs. When added to the eight inputs and eight outputs provided on a host RADC unit, the use of RIOX boards brings the total possible point count associated with one RADC to 32 inputs and 32 outputs.

All inputs are tamper protected and can detect normal, alarm, tamper open, and tamper short conditions on the monitored line. LEDs are utilized to indicate the signal condition and can be used for diagnostic purposes. Software configuration allows for normally open or normally closed contacts to represent the normal condition. Outputs are provided with relays from Form C contacts, with link selection allowing outputs to be configured as normally open or normally closed.

  • Four tamper-protected inputs
  • Four Form C relay outputs, configurable as normally open or normally closed
  • Diagnostic LED indication of all alarm points
  • All connections to RADC units via plug-in terminal blocks
  • Capable of expanding the I/O capacity of RADC network controllers to a max of 32 inputs and 32 outputs

Enhancing ease of maintenance and upgrade, all connections are provided with a plug-in terminal block, eliminating the need to disconnect wiring.

StarGate-III Indicator

As part of an integrated StarWatch™ security system, the StarGate-III Indicator module provides a remote visual indication of the alarm state of an active system zone. Without having to physically access installed RADC panels, users are able to confirm current zone status via a wall-mounted bi-color LED and an associated alarm buzzer.

The indicator configuration consists of a main annunciator board and a remotely installed LED wall plate. These components are connected via an RJ11 cable, with a maximum distance of 1000 feet. The main board plugs directly into the StarGate-III unit at the ribbon cable connection normally used for the RADC keypad (the keypad ribbon cable re-plugs into the top of the annunciator board), while the LED plate can be mounted at any location within the cable range.

  • 8 bit microcontroller
  • Pre-configured mounting kit with metal wall plate and plastic spacers
  • Bi-color LED indicator
  • Jumper link to manually disable alarm buzzer
  • Simple connection of LED indicator board to main module using 4 conductor 1-to-1 RJ11 cable
  • Easy plug-in installation
  • No software re-configuration required
